Product Description
EA Nutra Buteless High Strength Solution is designed to provide extra support and comfort to hardworking joints and muscles in performance horses and ponies.
Buteless High Strength Solution is also ideal for older horses, when years of wear and tear on joints.
This unique solution, combining highly bio-available Boswellia, Curcumin and Marshmallow extracts, provides natural support for the horse's own anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant processes:
Boswellia serrata: grows in the dry, mountainous regions of India, North Africa and the Middle East, and the resin from the Boswellia genus is also known as frankincense – which tells us a little about how long it has been considered a valuable resource!
Recent research has indicated that it is a group of compounds called boswellic acids, found in Boswellia, that help the horse's own anti-inflammatory processes. Furthermore, one of the boswellic acids, abbreviated to AKBA* ( acetyl-11-keto-B-boswellic acid) has been shown in both human and animal studies to be the most active of these important compounds which support natural anti-inflammatory processes.
EA Nutra Buteless High Strength Solution contains a unique Boswellia extract, containing 78% AKBA – many times higher than conventional Boswellia extracts, providing an extremely high level of support for natural anti-inflammatory processes, and helping to maintain joint health and comfort.
Curcumin: the active compound derived from Curcuma longa (turmeric), and known throughout the world for its natural support for natural anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant processes, to support joint health and comfort. The curcumin extract in EA Nutra Buteless Solution is unique and highly bioavailable.
Marshmallow (Althea officinalis): is probably the plant from which the well-known confectionary treats were originally derived in the 19th century – mixing the sweet sap from the marshmallow root with egg whites and sugar. However, as well as a sweet sap, the marshmallow plant also contains a number of other phytochemicals, which may help the horse's own anti-inflammatory processes, and support joint health and mobility.
What are the benefits of Buteless High Strength Solution?
- Helps natural anti-inflammatory processes and supports joint health and comfort in both performance horses and older horses and ponies.
- Contains exclusive 78% AKBA Boswellia extract, as well as Curcumin and Marshmallow extracts.
- Palatable and easy to mix in feeds.
- Low sugar and suitable for horses and ponies.
- Batch tested in independent Labs in the UK and France, suitable for horses competing under FEI rules and The Rules of Racing.

Product Description
Horses are designed to trickle feed – grazing for up to 16 hours a day. This means that they need to constantly secrete acid to help digest this almost continual source of food entering their stomach. A grazing horse will also produce up to 9 gallons of saliva a day which as well as lubricating the food, also acts to help maintain a healthy gastric pH.
The horse has a small stomach, and food does not stay in there for very long, so even short periods during the day without access to forage should be minimised.
Providing a small amount of forage, such as chaff, prior to exercise will also support gastric health and comfort.
There are a number of additional management tips which may also help support gastric health:
- Plan yard and field regimes to avoid stressors such as bullying or excessive activity near the stable.
- Avoid high starch feeds and instead use a forage-based regime with digestible fibre sources and oil to provide additional energy.
- Try to provide periods of turnout or hand grazing if possible to enable the horse to benefit from antioxidants in fresh green forage.
Plan training and competition schedules carefully, especially where long-distance travel may result in restricted forage intake.
Equine America ULS-gard Pellets have been formulated using carefully selected ingredients to help maintain gastric health and comfort including:
Slow-release calcium and magnesium from marine algae, to help support a healthy gut pH.
Lecithin - a special type of fat which to support healthy stomach lining cells.
Pectins, Marshmallow root and Liquorice - to help produce mucilage which acts as a physical barrier for the unprotected upper portion of the stomach.
Aloe Vera and Glycine - to help support a healthy gastric mucosa (lining of the stomach).
High nucleotide yeast - to provide beta-glucans which help to increase the viscosity of stomach contents, and provide nutritional support for a healthy gastric mucosa.
Pre and Probiotics to support a healthy gut microbiome.
Alfalfa and soya hulls to provide a fibrous "mat" and to help maintain a healthy gastric pH.
Additional Management factors to help support digestive health and comfort.
- Turnout to grass where practical and possible, ideally with a placid companion, even if only for short periods.
- Ensure ad-lib forage where practical. For good-doers, where calories are restricted, offer very frequent, but controlled amounts of forage, with the largest allocation overnight. Select clean, but low-calorie forage to enable larger amounts to be offered.
- Offer forage in different locations in the stable to encourage natural foraging behaviour.
- Try to reduce social stressors such as bullying stablemates, or proximity to the feed store.
- Feed a good double handful (or 1 round scoop) of alfalfa chaff before exercise or competition warm-up to provide a fibrous "mat" in the stomach - even if forage is available in the stable or lorry.
- Consider replacing some starch-based calories with Equine America Supreme Omega Oil in the diet.

Product Description
Cortaflex® HA Regular powder is designed for the nutritional maintenance of healthy joints in horses and ponies in light to moderate work, or older horses needing a little extra mobility support!
Cortaflex® HA Regular Powder provides a tried and tested blend of key compounds, with low sugar levels, making it suitable for horses and ponies prone to laminitis. Cortaflex® HA Regular Powder includes collagen, hyaluronic acid, trace elements and amino acid building blocks to provide essential nutritional support for maintaining healthy cartilage and joint fluid. Cartilage is the spongy, elastic material which covers the ends of the bones within a joint, acting as a major shock absorber, and helping to reduce friction. Joint or synovial fluid should be thick and viscous, to bathe and lubricate the joint, also acting as a vital shock absorber.
- Provides key nutritional building blocks for joint support including collagen, amino acids, MSM, hyaluronic acid and trace elements.
- Suitable for all horses and ponies in light to medium work, and older horses and ponies to support mobility.
- Low sugar - suitable for horses and ponies prone to laminitis.
- BETA NOPS and UFAS accredited, ensuring our products do not contain prohibited substances and are suitable for horses competing under FEI regulations and the Rules of Racing.

What are the benefits of Cortaflex® HA Regular Strength Powder?
- Nutritional support for cartilage (collagen, amino acids, MSM and manganese)
- Antioxidant defence (MSM and copper)
- Joint fluid support (hyaluronic acid)
- Bone and connective tissue repair (collagen, MSM, manganese and silicon)
- Suitable for horses and ponies prone to laminitis, including those where the use of glucosamine is a concern for owners.
Ingredients & Nutrition
Key Ingredients
Collagen – one of the most abundant proteins in the body, and provides the structural framework for cartilage, to help give it strength and elasticity. We are proud to confirm that we use a sustainable and ethical source of marine collagen.
Hyaluronic Acid – a key compound called a glycosaminoglycan (GAG) which helps to maintain the viscosity of the joint fluid, to lubricate the cartilage and act as an additional shock absorber.
Amino Acids – to provide the nutritional building blocks for the production of the amino sugars. The best known amino sugar is probably glucosamine, which is important as a subunit for the production of other compounds called glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) which then bind to the collagen framework in the cartilage, to help give it greater strength and elasticity.
MSM - provides a natural, bioavailable form of sulphur which is a key mineral for the bonding of compounds within the cartilage framework, to enhance strength, and also helps to support the horse's own anti-inflammatory processes.
Key trace minerals including manganese, silicon and copper - which all play important roles in the production of structural compounds such as chondroitin, as well as in the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid. These minerals also play key roles in the production of important antioxidants.

Product Description
Magnesium is an essential mineral, playing important roles in many areas of metabolism. One of its major roles is as a co-factor in the enzymes involved in nerve and neuro-muscular transmission – helping to regulate nerve to nerve and nerve to muscle transmission and communication.
A lack of magnesium can result in nerve and neuro-muscular excitability, resulting in a tense, nervous horse.
Stressful situations such as strenuous activity and competition, travelling, prolonged stabling and lack of grazing, or new environments may further increase magnesium requirements as stress levels rise.
Magnitude provides supplemental magnesium, together with controlled amounts of calcium (another key mineral in nerve and muscle metabolism), to help promote healthy nerve function and reduce tension, enabling the horse to focus and concentrate.
What are the benefits of Magnitude?
Magnitude provides magnesium from Magnesium Oxide, which is produced from calcined magnesite, extracted from natural deposits in the earth. The Magnesium Oxide used in Magnitude typically contains 52.7% elemental magnesium.
- Natural source of magnesium to supplement low or marginal levels in forage.
- A very small daily serving of 5g provides 2.6g elemental magnesium, easily mixed in feed for fussy feeders
- Safe use with most typical fortified performance and leisure feeds and forage.
Colour Change
*Slight colour change - but the same great product, now with even more quality assurance!
We are pleased to confirm that there is no difference in the magnesium levels, or the chemical source of the magnesium used (magnesium oxide - MgO), only in the physical form of MgO we are now using.
This change in physical form (to the slightly more granular form, with a pale beige colour) has arisen because we are delighted to report that we are now manufacturing Equine America (UK) products in the UK, using certified facilities with the highest standards of safety and production. Although Equine America (UK) products have always been free from prohibited substances, our new UFAS and BETA NOPS certifications will provide further reassurance in the light of recent high profile prohibited substances cases, giving our customers peace of mind regarding FEI, BEF and BHA prohibited substances, enabling full traceability.
In order to comply with the rules and regulations regarding these certifications, we are only able to use certain suppliers, who are also certified, and have had to make a change to our supply of magnesium oxide, so we are now using the lower dust, slightly granular form, which is pale beige.
If you have any queries, please no hesitate to contact the Office.

Product Description
Horses are naturally fright and flight animals and can be prone to excitability and nervousness in unfamiliar surroundings (such as competition or new training venue) which can lead to spookiness and cause them to lose concentration and focus with undesirable behaviour.
Super So Kalm Paste provides targeted nutrition with 5 key ingredients to support the horse in managing these stress responses and supporting calm behaviour.
Super So Kalm Paste should be fed 1.5-2 hours before exercise or event for best results.
Magnesium is a vital micromineral and plays an important role in nerve activity and muscle contraction, as well as its other functions around the body. A lack of magnesium in the diet can result in neuro-muscular excitability and increase in nervous behaviour.
Calcium works closely with Magnesium and also is key to maintaining correct muscle and nerve function.
Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is important for nerve impulse transmission and cellular energy production.
L-Tryptophan is an essential amino acid in the horse’s diet that is required for the production of the important hormone serotonin, which is associated with mood and pleasure. L-tryptophan is included in Super So Kalm at a safe level to support the daily requirement, particularly in those sharp or anxious horses that are likely to be receiving minimal concentrates, and consequently may be receiving sub-optimal levels of this key amino acid.
Chamomile is a natural plant that has been used for centuries for its soothing and calming properties.
All ingredients are selected to ensure they are fully compliant with the Rules of Racing and the FEI guidelines for Clean Sport.

All ingredients are selected to ensure they are fully compliant with the Rules of Racing and the FEI guidelines for Clean Sport.
Ingredients & Nutrition
Super So Kalm provides targeted nutrition with 4 key ingredients to support the horse in managing stress responses and supporting calm behaviour.
Magnesium is a vital micromineral and plays an important role in nerve function and muscle contraction, as well as its other jobs around the body. A lack of magnesium in the diet can result in neuro-muscular excitability and increase in anxiety.
Calcium works closely with Magnesium and also is key to maintaining correct muscle and nerve function.
Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is important for nerve impulse transmission and cellular energy production.

Product Description
Modern horses and ponies are subjected to many stresses and challenges – including moving yards to new management and forage sources, strenuous training and competition programmes, national and international travel to stay-away shows, and high starch diets to provide energy. This disruption can adversely affect performance in many ways, ranging from a subtle decrease in energy production or a reduction in immunity, through to a decrease in gut pH and metabolic and immune system disruption, but certainly to a significant decrease in health, wellbeing and performance.
Pro-Gut Balancer is a unique combination of pre and probiotics, together with a mannan oligosaccharide (MOS), to help maintain the health of the microbial population in the light of the many challenges faced by modern horses and ponies.
Benefits of Pro Gut Balancer
Pro-Gut Balancer provides a unique triple action approach to maintaining gut health:
- Probiotics (from the Greek “for life”) Pro Gut Balancer contains the only live yeast licensed for use in horses, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, with the highest number of live colony forming units (cfu) per serve. This live yeast plays several vital roles:
- Helping fibre digestion, by using their hyphae to help pull the fibre particle apart. This enables the fibre digesting bacteria to colonize and digest the fibre more readily, producing volatile fatty acids (VFA’s) which are a vital energy source for the horse.
- Scavenging pockets of oxygen in the gut, which would otherwise be toxic to many of the beneficial microbes.
- Outcompeting the lactic acid producing microbes, and encouraging the growth of those which can use lactic acid, thus helping to reduce the likelihood of a drop in hindgut pH which can disrupt the delicate balance in the microbiome.
- Prebiotics are typically fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), usually obtained from sugarbeet, but are also naturally found in a number of vegetables of fruits such as chicory, onions, asparagus roots, garlic, Jerusalem artichokes, leeks and bananas.
Unlike most carbohydrates, these FOS’s are largely unaffected by stomach acid, and other digestive enzymes, but instead, they are selectively fermented by many of the beneficial bacteria in the hindgut. In other words, they act as a food source for, and selectively encourage the growth and activity of the beneficial intestinal bacteria which are associated with health and well-being.
- Mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS): Is obtained from the cell walls of yeasts, and contains beta glucans as well as mannans, acting as a prebiotic.
Pro-Gut Balancer should be fed for 7-10 days before, during and for 7-10 days after any stressful activity that might adversely impact the microbiome such as long distance travelling, moving yards, broodmares going away to stud, youngstock starting sales prep, or after illness or injury.
Elite competition and racehorses, with ongoing strenuous training and competition programmes may benefit from longer term daily use.

Product Description
Cortaflex® HA Regular Strength Solution is designed for the nutritional maintenance of healthy joints in horses and ponies in light to moderate work, or older horses needing a little extra mobility support!
Cortaflex® HA Regular Strength Solution provides a tried and tested blend of key compounds, in a low sugar, palatable liquid, making it suitable for horses and ponies prone to laminitis. Cortaflex® HA Regular Strength Solution includes collagen, hyaluronic acid, trace elements and amino acid building blocks to provide essential nutritional support for maintaining healthy cartilage and joint fluid. Cartilage is the spongy, elastic material which covers the ends of the bones within a joint, acting as a major shock absorber and helping to reduce friction. Joint or synovial fluid should be thick and viscous, to bathe and lubricate the joint, also acting as a vital shock absorber.

What are the benefits of Cortaflex® HA Regular Strength Solution?
- Nutritional support for cartilage (collagen, amino acids, MSM and manganese)
- Antioxidant defence (MSM and copper)
- Joint fluid support (hyaluronic acid)
- Bone and connective tissue repair (MSM, manganese and silicon)
- Suitable for horses and ponies prone to laminitis, including those where the use of glucosamine is a concern for owners.
Ingredients & Nutrition
MSM – provides a natural, bioavailable form of sulphur which is a key mineral for the bonding of compounds within the cartilage framework, to enhance strength, and also helps to maintain a normal inflammatory response.
Key trace minerals including manganese, silicon and copper - which all play important roles in the production of structural compounds such as chondroitin, as well as in the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid. These minerals also play key roles in the production of important antioxidants.

Ingredients & Nutrition
Collagen – an important compound needed to produce the water-based matrix or structural framework of the cartilage, to help give it strength and elasticity. We are proud to confirm that we use a sustainable and ethical source of marine collagen.
Hyaluronic acid – a key glycosaminoglycan (GAG) which helps to maintain the viscosity of the joint fluid, to lubricate the joint and act as a shock absorber.
Amino acids to provide the building blocks for the production of the amino sugars such as glucosamine, which is a structural subunit in the production of other glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) which bind to the collagen matrix to help maintain strong and functional cartilage.
Key trace minerals including manganese, silicon and copper, which all play important roles in the production of structural compounds such as chondroitin, as well as in the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid.
MSM - provides a natural, bioavailable form of sulphur which is a key mineral for the bonding of compounds within the cartilage framework, to enhance strength, and also helps to maintain a normal inflammatory response.
Boswellia - to provide antioxidants and other important phytochemicals to support joint health and comfort as well as the horse's own anti-inflammatory processes.

Product Description
Wear and tear on the cartilage which covers the articular surfaces of joints is one of the most common causes of reduced mobility in horses and ponies. It is often seen in older horses but can affect those in lighter work, as well those with a strenuous training and competition programme.
Cartilage doesn’t have its own blood supply and it relies on the bone underneath and the synovial or joint fluid bathing the joint to supply nutrients and key compounds to maintain its health and shock-absorbing properties. As the horse ages, or the daily impact of training and competition increases, the ability of the underlying bone and synovial fluid to provide these nutrients may not be enough to maintain health, resulting in stiffness and reduced mobility.
Glucosamine 12,000 provides these key nutrients to help maintain healthy cartilage and synovial fluid, supporting joint health and mobility.
Glucosamine HCl is supported by research and has greater purity and stability properties compared to glucosamine sulphate, providing over 20% more glucosamine on a weight for weight basis. This means, 12,000mg of glucosamine HCl (a typical daily serve), is not the same as 12,000mg of glucosamine sulphate. Glucosamine HCl is typically 83% actual glucosamine and glucosamine sulphate is typically only 60% actual glucosamine. Therefore, a supplement providing 12,000mg glucosamine HCl per serve actually provides 10,300mg glucosamine, whereas a supplement stating 12,000mg glucosamine sulphate per serve only provides 7200mg actual glucosamine.
Ingredients & Nutrition
Glucosamine is one of the key compounds in supporting joint health, and has 3 important roles:
- To stimulate the production of the proteoglycans which help produce the strong, elastic, shock-absorbing properties of the collagen matrix in the cartilage
- To help maintain cartilage health
- Helps support the horses’ own anti-inflammatory processes.
MSM is a powerful antioxidant and helps support the horses’ own anti-inflammatory systems, as well as a bioavailable source of organic sulphur, which is a vital component of key amino acids and vitamins. Sulphur also has an important role in collagen synthesis. Collagen is a major component of connective tissue such as ligaments and tendons and cartilage.
Hyaluronic Acid is important in maintaining the viscosity and elastic shock-absorbing properties of joint fluid
Glucosamine HCl 12000 provides these 3 key nutrients to provide nutritional support for cartilage and helps maintain healthy joint fluid to lubricate and nourish the joint.

Horses and ponies are subjected to a constant respiratory challenge from fungal spores, dust and pollen, whether they are stabled, or out at pasture, and these tiny particles can irritate the sensitive lining or mucosa of the respiratory tract, including the lungs.
Targeted nutritional support can help the horse’s natural defences against such challenges, and Airways Xtra Strength Powder contains a powerful blend of plant-derived essential oils to help maintain a healthy respiratory system.
What are the benefits of Airways Xtra Strength Powder?
Eucalyptus oil is well known for its ability to help clear the respiratory tract of a build-up of mucus caused by exposure to dust, fungal spores, pollen and other small particulate matter.
Peppermint and its active ingredient Menthol, have been used for centuries to help open the airways and clear excess mucus. Many of the natural compounds found in peppermint oil will provide nutritional support to help the horse’s own respiratory defences.

Product Description
An increase in body temperature, either as a result of exercise, travelling or high environmental temperature will cause the horse to sweat. The evaporation of this sweat helps the horse to cool down and regulate his body temperature.
Sweating causes fluid loss, together with the loss of body salts or electrolytes, which are contained in the sweat.
The important electrolytes are Sodium and Chloride, Potassium, Calcium and Magnesium and they play many key roles in the body, but especially muscle contraction, the nervous system, and maintaining the fluid balance around cells.
Potassium is usually supplied in abundance in the horse’s diet, as most forages such as pasture, hay and haylage are high in potassium.
Sodium and Chloride are found at much lower levels in forages, and even for horses in light work, sodium and chloride need to be provided on a daily basis.
Most compound feeds such as cubes and mixes, will provide some sodium and chloride in the form of salt, but if intakes are low, this may not provide enough, and supplemental electrolytes will be required. Similarly, hard working horses, especially in hot or humid conditions, will lose larger quantities of electrolytes and water in sweat. There will often not be enough in normal daily feed to replace these losses, and additional electrolytes will be needed to replenish these losses, encouraging the horse to drink and promote rehydration, to maintain health and performance.
A horse in moderate work, trotting and cantering, can lose as much as 5-7 litres of fluid, and 50-70g electrolytes in an hour, and this will increase as the work intensity or duration increases, and even more if the weather is hot and humid!
So maintaining hydration, and replacing lost electrolytes is important not only for elite competition horses, but for all horses and ponies who are sweating after work – from Pony Club rallies or long hacks in the summer, right through to international eventers, show jumpers and dressage horses!
Because horse sweat contains a higher concentration of sodium and chloride than his other body fluids, it is important that supplemental electrolytes are provided at the correct concentrations to ensure that the desire to drink is maintained, so fluid balance AND electrolyte losses can be restored, to promote recovery, and ensure continued optimum performance.
This is especially important during long distance travel, or longer show and events, when fatigue will increase, and performance will decline if electrolyte and fluid balance are not restored.
Apple Lytes have been carefully formulated to replace the key electrolytes and encourage drinking to help support rehydration and maintain peak performance all season.
Apple Lytes are highly palatable, and should be mixed in feed. Clean, fresh water should always be available.
What are the benefits of Apple Lytes?
Sodium, Potassium and Chloride levels are carefully balanced to provide optimum levels to promote drinking and restore electrolytes losses to maintain performance
Calcium and Magnesium are also provided from bio-available sources.
Low sugar and suitable for all horses and ponies
Highly palatable, with an attractive apple/cherry flavour, and readily accepted even by fussy feeders.

So maintaining hydration, and replacing lost electrolytes is important not only for elite competition horses, but for all horses and ponies who are sweating after work – from Pony Club rallies or long hacks in the summer, right through to international eventers, show jumpers and dressage horses!
The important electrolytes are Sodium and Chloride, Potassium, Calcium and Magnesium and they play many key roles in the body, but especially muscle contraction, the nervous system, and maintaining the fluid balance around cells.
Because horse sweat contains a higher concentration of sodium and chloride than his other body fluids, it is important that supplemental electrolytes are provided at the correct concentrations to ensure that the desire to drink is maintained, so fluid balance AND electrolyte losses can be restored, to promote rehydration and recovery, and ensure continued optimum performance.
This is especially important during long distance travel, or longer show and events, when fatigue will increase, and performance will decline if electrolyte and fluid balance (rehydration) are not restored.
Research has shown that just 1% dehydration can adversely affect performance.
Apple Lytes Paste been carefully formulated to begin to replace the key electrolytes, and encourage drinking to help support rehydration and maintain peak performance.
Apple Lytes should not be administered on a empty stomach, but should be given at appropriate intervals during long distance travel. Following exertion, once cooled and calm, the horse should be offered a small fibre feed or access to forage, before administering Apple Lytes Paste.
