Product Description
Wear and tear on the cartilage which covers the articular surfaces of joints is one of the most common causes of reduced mobility in horses and ponies. It is often seen in older horses but can affect those in lighter work, as well those with a strenuous training and competition programme.
Cartilage doesn’t have its own blood supply and it relies on the bone underneath and the synovial or joint fluid bathing the joint to supply nutrients and key compounds to maintain its health and shock-absorbing properties. As the horse ages, or the daily impact of training and competition increases, the ability of the underlying bone and synovial fluid to provide these nutrients may not be enough to maintain health, resulting in stiffness and reduced mobility.
Glucosamine 12,000 provides these key nutrients to help maintain healthy cartilage and synovial fluid, supporting joint health and mobility.
Glucosamine HCl is supported by research and has greater purity and stability properties compared to glucosamine sulphate, providing over 20% more glucosamine on a weight for weight basis. This means, 12,000mg of glucosamine HCl (a typical daily serve), is not the same as 12,000mg of glucosamine sulphate. Glucosamine HCl is typically 83% actual glucosamine and glucosamine sulphate is typically only 60% actual glucosamine. Therefore, a supplement providing 12,000mg glucosamine HCl per serve actually provides 10,300mg glucosamine, whereas a supplement stating 12,000mg glucosamine sulphate per serve only provides 7200mg actual glucosamine.
Ingredients & Nutrition
Glucosamine is one of the key compounds in supporting joint health, and has 3 important roles:
- To stimulate the production of the proteoglycans which help produce the strong, elastic, shock-absorbing properties of the collagen matrix in the cartilage
- To help maintain cartilage health
- Helps support the horses’ own anti-inflammatory processes.
MSM is a powerful antioxidant and helps support the horses’ own anti-inflammatory systems, as well as a bioavailable source of organic sulphur, which is a vital component of key amino acids and vitamins. Sulphur also has an important role in collagen synthesis. Collagen is a major component of connective tissue such as ligaments and tendons and cartilage.
Hyaluronic Acid is important in maintaining the viscosity and elastic shock-absorbing properties of joint fluid
Glucosamine HCl 12000 provides these 3 key nutrients to provide nutritional support for cartilage and helps maintain healthy joint fluid to lubricate and nourish the joint.

Product Description
Horses’ joints are subjected to immense stress and strain, particularly during competition and training, leading to wear and tear. Joint problems, especially wear and tear of the cartilage (which covers the articular surfaces of bones within the joint) is one of the most common causes of reduced performance and ultimately lameness in performance horses. This isn’t just a problem of performance horses though, with horses living longer than ever, these joints can also have significant wear and tear due to a lifetime of use!
As the horse ages, or the daily impact of training and competition increase, the ability of the underlying bone and synovial fluid to provide vital nutrients and key chondroprotective compounds may not be enough to maintain joint health resulting in a loss of performance. So it is important that high-performance and older horses receive a dietary supply of these key nutrients to support joint health, to ensure the cartilage and joint fluid retain their elasticity and shock-absorbing properties to help maintain peak performance and comfort.
Ingredients & Nutrition
A complementary feed for horses and ponies, designed to support and maintain healthy joints and comfort, as part of a balanced diet.
Easy to feed in a highly palatable cherry flavoured powder.
Key Ingredients
Glucosamine - is one of the key compounds in supporting joint health, and has 3 important roles:
- To stimulate the production of proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), which help to produce the strong, elastic, shock-absorbing properties of the collagen matrix in the cartilage.
- To help maintain cartilage health.
- Helps support the horses’ own anti-inflammatory processes.
N-Acetyl D Glucosamine - provides an additional source of glucosamine that is particularly important in supporting the horse's own anti-inflammatory processes.
Chondroitin Sulphate - is a key compound in maintaining the structure, elasticity and shock-absorbing properties of cartilage, partly through its water-retaining properties.
Boswellia - the new Kentucky Advanced Joint Powder (formerly known as Kentucky Super Strength Joint Powder), the level of Boswellia has increased to 5000mg per 35g serve from 1700mg. The Boswellic Acids, in particular, AKBA (Acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid) have been shown to support the horse's own anti-inflammatory processes, helping to maintain performance levels. Boswellia also provides antioxidants and other important phytochemicals to support joint health and comfort.
MSM - provides support for the horses own anti-inflammatory processes. It also provides a bio-available source of sulphur to support the bonds in the structural matrix of the cartilage, and the tendons and ligaments.
Hyaluronic Acid - high molecular weight HA helps to maintain the viscosity and elastic shock-absorbing properties of joint fluid and is increasingly recognized as playing a vital role in joint health.
Vitamin C - plays a key role in the production of collagen, which provides the structural framework for the important shock-absorbing properties of cartilage, as well as supporting connective tissue (e.g. ligaments and tendons).
Manganese, Copper and Zinc Glycinates - are a bioavailable source of key trace mineral which plays a key role in many enzymes systems involved in joint health.
Manganese, Copper and Zinc Glycinates - are a bioavailable source of key trace mineral which plays a key role in many enzymes systems involved in joint health.
Rosemary – a natural antioxidant.
Black Pepper - provides a source of piperine, which is thought to help the absorption of these key ingredients to support joint health.
Kentucky Advanced Joint Powder contains optimum levels of these key ingredients to provide essential nutritional support for cartilage and to help maintain healthy joint fluid to lubricate and nourish the joint, helping to promote the health and vital shock-absorbing properties in hard-working joints.
Kentucky Advanced Joint Powder will also help support the horse's own anti-inflammatory processes to help maintain joint and muscle comfort in high-performance horses.

Product Description
Historically, most laminitis cases were thought to occur as a result of an inflammatory response, from over consumption of pasture and other feeds which are high in soluble carbohydrates, leading to a disruption to the hindgut microbiome, which caused the release of endotoxins, together with the excessive production of free radicals from oxidative processes. The actual physiological responses which lead to laminitis are still unclear, but it is thought that the inflammatory response and the high level of damaging free radicals produced by oxidation during the inflammatory response ultimately affect blood supply to the feet. The restriction of blood to the feet causes damage and death to the laminae, resulting in pain and lameness, and in severe cases, rotation of the pedal bone.
Excessive concussion of the feet (working on hard ground), retained placenta in broodmares, systemic infections and supporting limb (following an injury) laminitis are also all thought to result in laminitis as a result of Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS) - Laminitis caused by inflammation and resulting oxidative damage.
However, recent studies have reported that a high proportion of laminitis cases are now thought to occur as a result of Endocrine or hormonal dysfunction.
These hormone imbalances can occur either as a result of PPID (Pars Pituitary Intermedia Dysfunction, commonly known as Cushings Disease), or a range of syndromes referred to as Equine Metabolic Syndrome or EMS. These disorders are characterised by, amongst other symptoms, insulin resistance (IR) and maybe be genetic in origin, as there seems to be a high incidence in Native ponies and some draft breeds. Again, it is not yet fully clear why higher than normal insulin levels can result in laminitis, but one theory is that insulin resistance may be associated with high levels of key proteins which cause vasoconstriction or narrowing of blood vessels in the feet. This is thought to result in narrowing and stretching of the lamellar cells over a period of time, before symptoms of pain and lameness become obvious to the owner – unlike SIRS laminitis, which is usually rapid in onset.
Lamigard Advanced Care pellets contain a potent blend of key antioxidant and other supporting nutrients and plant extracts to help in long term nutritional management of horses and ponies prone to laminitis and those with endocrine dysfunction.
What are the benefits of Lamigard Advanced Care Pellets?
Cinnamon is a natural source of chromium which can help with maintaining blood glucose levels in insulin resistant horses and ponies.
Melon Pulp is a natural source of key antioxidant enzymes.
Magnesium also plays a key role in helping to support a normal antioxidant and inflammatory response .
Folic Acid plays a key role in nitric oxide generation, which is important for vasodilation -helping to keep blood vessels open in the feet.
Biotin is included at 20mg per 50g serve, to support high quality horn growth from the coronary band to the base of the hoof wall.
MSM provides a bio-available source of sulphur to support the bonds between the hoof tubules. It also helps to support the horse's own anti-inflammatory processes.
Methionine is a sulphur containing amino acid, and provides a bioavailable source of sulphur to support the sulphur bonds between the tubules.
Zinc is a key mineral in the production and maintenance of healthy hoof horn.
Probiotics help to support the gut microbiome, which is fundamental to overall health and may be disrupted in horses and ponies prone to laminitis
Antioxidants Vitamin E and dry grape extract help to neutralize damaging free radicals and support the immune system.

Magnesium Oxide 4.88g (of which 2.6g Magnesium) | Calcium Carbonate 130mg |
---|---|
Calcium 50mg | |
Product Description
Magnesium is an essential mineral, playing important roles in many areas of metabolism. One of its major roles is as a co-factor in the enzymes involved in nerve and neuro-muscular transmission – helping to regulate nerve to nerve and nerve to muscle transmission and communication.
A lack of magnesium can result in nerve and neuro-muscular excitability, resulting in a tense, nervous horse.
Stressful situations such as strenuous activity and competition, travelling, prolonged stabling and lack of grazing, or new environments may further increase magnesium requirements as stress levels rise.
Magnitude provides supplemental magnesium, together with controlled amounts of calcium (another key mineral in nerve and muscle metabolism), to help promote healthy nerve function and reduce tension, enabling the horse to focus and concentrate.
What are the benefits of Magnitude?
Magnitude provides magnesium from Magnesium Oxide, which is produced from calcined magnesite, extracted from natural deposits in the earth. The Magnesium Oxide used in Magnitude typically contains 52.7% elemental magnesium.
- Natural source of magnesium to supplement low or marginal levels in forage.
- A very small daily serving of 5g provides 2.6g elemental magnesium, easily mixed in feed for fussy feeders
- Safe use with most typical fortified performance and leisure feeds and forage.
Colour Change
*Slight colour change - but the same great product, now with even more quality assurance!
We are pleased to confirm that there is no difference in the magnesium levels, or the chemical source of the magnesium used (magnesium oxide - MgO), only in the physical form of MgO we are now using.
This change in physical form (to the slightly more granular form, with a pale beige colour) has arisen because we are delighted to report that we are now manufacturing Equine America (UK) products in the UK, using certified facilities with the highest standards of safety and production. Although Equine America (UK) products have always been free from prohibited substances, our new UFAS and BETA NOPS certifications will provide further reassurance in the light of recent high profile prohibited substances cases, giving our customers peace of mind regarding FEI, BEF and BHA prohibited substances, enabling full traceability.
In order to comply with the rules and regulations regarding these certifications, we are only able to use certain suppliers, who are also certified, and have had to make a change to our supply of magnesium oxide, so we are now using the lower dust, slightly granular form, which is pale beige.
If you have any queries, please no hesitate to contact the Office.

Product Description
Horse need muscle to support and move the skeleton through the use of joints, tendons and ligaments. In addition, working horses will use these muscles to support the rider and perform the athletic tasks required.
Muscles are predominantly made from the building blocks of protein called amino acids. There are some amino acids that the horse can produce for himself and others, called essential amino acids, which he must receive from his diet. There are 9 essential amino acids, and research has indicated that there are at least two which are particularly important for muscle development – Lysine and Leucine.
But in order to build muscle, it is not just a question of feeding more non-specific dietary protein:
- The first requirement to build more muscle is correctly performed exercise and training – horses out of work or on box rest cannot develop muscle -they may gain condition if they receive extra energy and protein - but will not build muscle unless they are exercising and working those muscles.
- The second requirement for muscles to develop during work is the presence of adequate supplies of protein, and in particular, certain key building blocks or amino acids, and research has indicated that two of the most important, or limiting amino acids are Lysine and Leucine.
- The third requirement is that in order to complete the necessary exercise and training, the horse must be receiving enough energy in his diet to undertake this work.
Rather than relying on a single protein source, More Muscle contains a blend of high-quality protein sources to provide supplemental levels of the key amino acids including Lysine and Leucine, from whey protein, Spirulina, linseed and soya.
In addition, to support energy requirements, More Muscle contains rice bran, which is high in oil to provide additional non-starch calories.
During the work necessary to promote their development, muscles produce free radicals, which can result in oxidative damage, and so More Muscle also provides key antioxidant micronutrients Vitamin E and Selenium, as well as plant based antioxidants including dry grape extract and rosemary.
A healthy gut microbiome is essential for correct digestion and feed utilization, to ensure energy levels can support the necessary work to build muscle. More Muscle contains high levels of probiotic yeast to support gut function.
There may be many reasons why horses need support to develop muscle. Ensure you have ruled out clinical conditions including pain by speaking with your vet, equine physio and other therapists, and your saddler. Once any underlying conditions have been addressed or ruled out, More Muscle Pellets are widely recommended by professionals to help provide extra support for muscle development, as part of the feeding and training regime.
Research has shown that muscles take up amino acids to support muscle development after exercise, so where possible, More Muscle Pellets should be offered in the first suitable feed after exercise for optimum effect.
What are the benefits of More Muscle Pellets?
Whey Protein Isolate, Spirulina, Linsed and Soya provide a range of important essential amino acids including Lysine and Leucine, rather than using a single source to promote muscle development.
Antioxidants including 1000mg Vitamin E and 0.25mg Selenium, as well as plant based antioxidants from Dry Grape Extract and Rosemary help support muscle health in working horses.
Stabilized Rice Bran provides very low starch energy from its high oil content, to support energy requirements and promote condition.
Probiotics help support a healthy gut microbiome to optimize digestion and feed utilization.

Product Description
MSM is found naturally in many fresh forages, but in very small quantities - usually in insufficient quantities to fully support the horse's own anti-inflammatory and antioxidant processes. It is also lost during the production of preserved forages such as hay and haylage.
MSM is a very bio-available source of the key mineral sulphur. Sulphur is a vital component of key amino acids such as methionine (important in hoof health), and important vitamins such as Vitamin B1 and Biotin.
Sulphur also plays a key role in the production of collagen, which is an important component of cartilage - one of the vital shock absorbing compounds in joints, and in connective tissue (tendons and ligaments).
The bioavailable sulphur from MSM will also promote healthy skin and coat, as well as stronger hoof horn, through its role in the synthesis of important sulphur containing amino acids and vitamins, such as biotin and methionine.
What are the benefits of MSM?
- Supports the horse's own anti-inflammatory processes to support joint health and comfort.
- Supports the production of collagen to support healthy cartilage, ligaments and tendons.
- Helps reduce oxidative stress.
- Helps promote healthy skin, coat and hoof horn.

Chastetree Extract 1500mg |
Product Description
Targeted nutritional support can help support hormone changes or imbalances, which may lead to muscle tension, cramps and irritable behaviour in mares, but also in stallions and even geldings.
Hormonal changes can result in challenging behaviour, making the horse difficult to handle, unwilling to work, and often result in a drop in performance.
Chastetree extract (Vitex Agnus Castus), also known as Monks Pepper, is a plant grown in the Mediterranean and parts of Asia, and has been used for centuries to support hormone balance and comfort.
More recently, research has shown that the Chasteberry plant contains natural compounds that may influence hormone levels and production. It is these effects that are thought to help regulate hormone balance, reducing irritability, muscle tension and cramps, which can lead to unpredictable and challenging behaviours, both ridden and on the ground.
Magnesium and Vitamin B1 are also added to help to support muscle function, and the nervous system, to further promote comfort and calm behaviour.
All ingredients are selected to ensure they are fully compliant with the Rules of Racing and the FEI guidelines for Clean Sport.
What are the benefits of No More Moods™ Solution?
- Hormonal balance (chastetree extract).
- Muscle tension (magnesium).
- Nerve function (vitamin B1).
- Encourages regularity with a mare's natural oestrus cycle.
Ingredients & Nutrition
Formulated to provide natural ingredients to support hormone balance in mares, non-breeding stallions and geldings, promoting comfort and a more stable mood.
The unique blend of ingredients includes:
Chastetree extract (Vitex agnus castus) or Monks Pepper: known to support hormone balance to help maintain a more even temperament, especially during hormone changes which occur during the mare’s oestrus cycle.
Magnesium : To support muscle function, especially where hormone imbalances may result in muscle cramps and tension
